PayFi legal

Terms of Service

Effective date: November 1, 2026

These Terms apply when you use PayFi, including operator workspaces and Wi-Fi access, account or payment portals made available through the service. Please read them before using PayFi.

1. About PayFi

PayFi is a software service operated by Shovtek. It provides tools for internet service providers and hotspot operators to manage Wi-Fi access, customers, vouchers, devices, billing and related operations. Some features also let Wi-Fi customers access account, support or payment portals provided by an operator.

These Terms form an agreement between you and PayFi when you access or use the service. By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using a PayFi-powered portal, you agree to the terms that apply to your use.

2. Accounts and access

3. Operator responsibilities

If you create or administer a workspace, you are responsible for the internet service, Wi-Fi network, prices, packages, access rules, notices and support you provide to your customers. You must have the rights and permissions needed to connect devices and manage network settings through PayFi.

You must follow applicable laws and third-party provider terms, explain your charges and service conditions to customers, and obtain any notices, permissions or consents required for information you collect. You are responsible for deciding how your customer records are used and who in your workspace can access them. See the Privacy Policy for how PayFi handles information in its own service.

Keep router and integration credentials accurate and secure. PayFi is not responsible for an outage, configuration or access decision caused by a device, internet provider, payment provider or workspace setting outside PayFi's control.

4. Customer responsibilities

When using a Wi-Fi or payment portal, follow the operator's posted access rules and prices, use accurate account details, and use the network only with authorization. Your Wi-Fi service is provided by the relevant operator; contact that operator about its coverage, packages, charges, refunds or connection quality.

5. Fees and payments

Workspace subscription amounts, billing periods and due dates are shown in PayFi or in the relevant invoice. Any applicable fee is due according to the invoice or other terms presented before you accept the service. PayFi records a subscription payment after receipt is verified; do not treat a transfer as confirmed until PayFi confirms it.

Where a workspace or customer payment uses a mobile-money, bank or other payment provider, that provider's terms also apply. PayFi does not control provider availability, settlement timing, reversals or fees. The operator is responsible for explaining its own customer charges, cancellation and refund terms. Contact the operator about a payment for that operator's Wi-Fi service.

6. Availability and integrations

We work to keep PayFi available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Features may change, be unavailable for maintenance or depend on internet connectivity, hardware, mobile networks and third-party services.

Integrations with routers, SMS, email or payment providers are subject to the availability and terms of those providers. You authorize PayFi to make the changes you request through your workspace, and you remain responsible for reviewing your network and account configuration.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use PayFi to break the law, access a network without authorization, interfere with another person's service, bypass security controls, distribute malware, probe or disrupt systems, or attempt to access another account or workspace. Do not misuse invitations, verification messages, payment features or support channels.

You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or interfere with PayFi except as allowed by applicable law or with our written permission.

8. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Workspace operators may also have privacy responsibilities for customer information they collect through their networks and portals.

9. Suspension and closure

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, address a security risk or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate, we will try to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

A workspace owner may submit a closure request through account settings. A request is reviewed by PayFi support; it does not automatically close the workspace or delete its data. We will explain any next steps and applicable data handling during the review.

10. Disclaimers and liability

PayFi is provided as a software tool. To the extent allowed by applicable law, we do not guarantee that the service will meet every requirement or that a third-party network, router, payment or messaging service will always work.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent allowed by law, PayFi is not responsible for indirect loss, lost profits or losses caused by an operator's network, customer service, pricing, configuration or third-party provider. These terms do not limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms as PayFi changes or to reflect legal requirements. We will update the effective date on this page and, where a change materially affects your use, provide notice through the service or another reasonable channel. Continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply, subject to applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania, without limiting any mandatory protections that apply to you. If you have a concern, contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
